Welcome to Sunflower Psychology
Hi, I’m so glad you’re here…
Life can be tricky at times, perhaps you are feeling like no matter how hard you try, you are still missing the mark somewhere. Maybe you are feeling like your emotions are a lot to handle right now, and you would like some strategies to help you.
Things can get overwhelming, especially when dealing with issues such as unmanaged ADHD, relationship challenges, trauma, or going through life transitions.
I am dedicated to supporting you through your journey with any of these issues. I like to focus therapy not only in teaching clients strategies to manage their symptoms, but also in making long lasting changes by healing from within.
Some of the areas I specialize in
Many adults with ADHD grapple with challenges like time management, organization, maintaining focus, and emotional regulation, which can impact their careers, relationships, and daily life. My mission is to empower you with knowledge, coping strategies, and to celebrate the unique strengths that ADHD brings while addressing its struggles.
Let’s get you working with your brain rather than against it!
ADHD
Anxiety
Anxiety can take many forms for people, but the common thread for all types of anxiety is a constant worry about the future.
Therapies such as CBT, and ACT can help by teaching you tools to better identify when anxiety is coming up, and by teaching strategies that can help you manage its symptoms.
Brain-based types of therapies, such as Brainspotting, can also help, by increasing emotion regulation, and your distress tolerance.
Trauma
Many people struggling with trauma describe feeling as though someone has hijacked their brain, and how in a second, they are reacting in a way that is not like them at all. Maybe you are feeling particularly anxious, feeling on edge, have trouble sleeping, or you might feel a sense of numbness that keeps you disconnected from yourself and others.
Although trauma symptoms are very distressing and confusing, therapy can help. I truly believe in the power of brain-based types of therapy in the treatment of trauma, including Brainspotting, and EMDR (coming soon - January 2025).
As humans, our relationship dynamics weave into most areas of our life. This can feel wonderful when we have strong and positive connections to others, but it can feel very disconcerting when things are not working exactly the way we hoped.
Perhaps you are finding that similar patterns come up in your relationships, without knowing why or how to change them. Maybe you need some help in how to better communicate what you need in your relationships, setting better boundaries, or moving through conflict in a more productive way.
I love helping people show up more authentically in their relationships, being able to ask for (and get) what they need, instead of feeling stuck in old cycles of disconnection.
